A Scottish Memorial Gathering - Charles’s Final Challenge

Dear friends and family,

Thank you to everyone who came together to celebrate Charles’s life. The warmth, love, and memories were a true reflection of Charles and the impact he had on so many lives.

As many of you know, Charles asked for his ashes to be scattered near Dow Loch, on the northern slope of Craiglee in Dumfries & Galloway — one of his favourite places.

There will be a gathering and moment of reflection for those who wish to attend but not take part in the hike. Afterwards, we will set out on a circular walk to Dow Loch to lay his ashes.

Date: Saturday, 22 November 2025

Gathering

  • Time: 9:00am - 10:00am

  • Location: Bruce’s Stone Upper Car Park, Glen Trool, Galloway Forest Park
